You will be greatly missed, Charla. You were always supportive of me and always had a kind word whenever we got a chance to chat. My condolences to your family at this time and my prayers are with them.

Charla was my sister-in-law many years ago, and we recently connected again on Facebook. I greatly admired her intelligence, and her great skill in the discussion of many subjects. My Dad greatly enjoyed a good natured back and forth with Charla on all things concerning the politics of the day. My thoughts are with Charla's family and friends during this difficult time.

I knew Charla from our days in the UNIX Engineering Group at DEC in New Hampshire. An incredibly intelligent, witty, and fun-loving woman that I was privileged to know. I am profoundly sorry for the great loss.

Charla was one of my mentors at Sun Microsystems, and my direct manager for many years. One of the most level-headed, intelligent and even-keeled persons I've had the pleasure of working with. She will be missed :(

Charla was a colleague at Epoch Systems. Always cheerful, always friendly, and always ready to emit snappy, insightful answers to the most innocent of questions.
Or statements. Or nothing at all.
Very nice, and typically thought-provoking person.

Charla was smart, funny, discerning (about everything: people, BS, good stuff, bad stuff, beautiful stuff), and was one of the best influences on me for how to (and how to not) live a good life. She was a friend to many, a deeply kind and generous woman.. Sad and empty that she has left us, happy that she had such a soft departure. You might find that you require more than living-room space, Bob, but we will be happy to fit wherever you say.

Charla and I were good friends in Iowa City. She was brilliant and kind. I would say unique. i was very fortunate to know her. I am very sorry for the extreme loss for her husband and family and her many friends across the country.
