Alfred "Al” Dempsey Jr., 83 of Cornfields, AZ passed away on July 9, 2021 from Esophageal Cancer.
He was born in Ganado, AZ on February 2, 1938. Al received his GED at 17 years old then enlisted into the US Navy. After his enlistment he began working as a Navajo Tribal Forest Ranger then a heavy equipment operator/driver for his tribe. He was a member of the American Legion Post “Warren Dempsey“ in honor of his brother who was KIA during the Vietnam War. Al was an avid reader and loved visiting with friends and family. He enjoyed traveling, watching old westerns and sports.
He is survived by his son Arlan Dempsey of Laguna Pueblo, NM; his daughter Grace Dempsey-Ward of Seattle, WA; brothers Gordan and Leigh Dempsey of Cornfields, AZ.
Preceded in death were Parents-Alfred Sr. and Joy Dempsey; Brother Warren Dempsey USMC; Sister-Gloria Stephens Ret. USMC; son-Dean Dempsey; daughter-Claudia Boles.
Grandchildren are: Cherokee & Dean John Boles, Aiea, HI; Catelyn & Leah Ward, Seattle, WA; Pawnee Boles, Temecula, CA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 DST, Wednesday July 21, 2021 at Cornfields, AZ (Hillis Family Cemetery). Family viewing TBD.
