Gerald “Keith” Grady, loving husband, father and friend passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023, in Seattle, Washington at the age of 71. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Grace, children Kristina and Thomas, grandson, Casey, two brothers, John and Keith along with numerous nieces and nephews. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Christine, one brother, Roland, “Rolly” and a lifelong friend and Marine Corp boot camp brother, David A. Wilson.

Keith was born on June 30, 1952, to Dorothy and Dean in Chehalis, Washington. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1970-1974 with an honorable discharge. He was a proud veteran who loved his country and others that served. He had a strong work ethic combined with a generous, compassionate spirit who loved to help others. His career endeavors included working in the shipping industry for the Port of Tacoma and the Port of Seattle. He eventually returned to doing something he loved in the Marines, operating heavy machinery, which led him down a career path of attending Trans Union Driving School in 1989, graduating at the top of his class with a 98% and then eventually owning his own truck and freight business called Grady Way Trucking. He also had the opportunity to work for other transportation companies throughout his career. During that time, he received numerous awards for his dedication, work ethic, knowledge, safety record and experience.

Throughout their marriage, Keith enjoyed living in various areas of the county, including Kentucky and Nevada. In 2020, Gerald and Grace made the decision to move back to Washington State and settled in Hoquiam, Washington.

Gerald had a strong love for music and could often be heard singing along to his favorites such as Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp or Tom Petty.

He also enjoyed deep discussions about life and he had a love for the outdoors.

A service will be held on October 26 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington at 2:00 PM. Tahoma National Cemetery is at 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent, WA 98024. If traveling on I-5 South, take exit 142A (Highway 18 Auburn/North Bend). Stay on Highway 18 for 13 miles. Take the S.E. 256th Street exit. At the stop sign turn left onto 256th Street. At the first traffic light, turn right onto 180th Avenue S.E. proceed straight after three way stop. At the stop sign, turn right onto 240th Street. Tahoma National Cemetery is ¼ mile on left.

Those attending should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to service. They will need to check in at the public information building in the far right lane.  Once they arrive, volunteers will escort them to the committal shelter.
