Judith "Judy" Kathleen Taylor

Judy left us far too soon due to complications from a pulmonary embolism. She died at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, WA, but not without a fight.

Judy was born in Kamloops, British Columbia and just a few months later moved to Plymouth, North Carolina for three years. Her next home was in Cosmopolis, WA where she went to school from kindergarten to third grade.  From there she moved to Castle Rock, WA which is where she graduated from high school in 1988.  In high school she exceled at both academics and tennis and worked part-time in her parents’ ice-cream store.

She attended the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA, graduating in 1992 with a B.A. in Politics and Government. She was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority where she made lifelong friendships. She studied abroad her junior year in Vienna, Austria. During summers while in college, she worked at the NORPAC newsprint mill in the storeroom receiving and inventorying parts. After college she moved to Seattle; her final place of residence was Kirkland, WA.

After graduating from UPS, she worked at Princess Cruises, then Weyerhaeuser Company at which time she started her Masters in Business Management degree from Antioch University. After completing her degree in 2005, she worked for Group Health Cooperative, then was a contractor for Microsoft, and from 2013 - 2020 she worked at Accenture as a Program Manager. She was highly respected by her colleagues and had a significant impact on her team members.

Judy was passionate about politics, so much so that in 2011 she became a US citizen allowing her vote in the 2012 presidential election. She spent much of her spare time staying abreast of both international and domestic current affairs. She volunteered in a variety of political related capacities over the years. She never walked away from an opportunity to discuss or debate politics.

Judy devoted lots of her time to her friendships and her family; that was always a priority for her.  She enjoyed travel to warm destinations, reading, podcasts, movies and cooking with her Le Creuset collection.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas; she’d start decorating early and leave the decorations up into the new year.

She leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew her.  Her quick wit, sarcasm, laughter, intelligence, independence and love for her friends and family will be missed forever.

Judy is survived by her parents, Jim Taylor and Sandy Taylor, her sister and brother-in-law Barb and Dave McGlothlin and her niece and nephew Taylor and Will McGlothlin who absolutely adored her.

Please join us at her Celebration of Life on February 8, 2PM – 6PM at Willows Lodge, 14580 NE 145th Street, Woodinville, WA 98072. There will be a short program followed by a reception.
