Manuel Escojido Jr. Obituary

Manny passed away on August 25, 2021 at South Seattle Veterans
Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Victoria, TX to Manuel Escojido Sr and Rosa Ortega.
Manny served his country with 2 tours of Vietnam. He was a decorated war hero and won many medals of honor for his service and sharpshooting skills.

After leaving the Army, he lived in Gatesville TX for a few years before moving to Chico, CA to attend college. He graduated from Cal State Chico with a degree in Sociology. Upon graduation, he took a job with the US Navy as a database analyst. He was transferred to Whidbey Island NAS (Oak Harbor) WA.
He left the NAS to start his own business "Manuel Labor".
The name was indicative of his sense of humor.
Manny was a long time resident of Oak Harbor, WA. He was a skilled artist, woodcarver and carpenter.
He is survived by his daughters, Mia Robertson, Rosa Harris and  Stacy Escojido and his son, Ross Escojido. His beloved sister, Rosie Rodriguez (Richard) and brother Mario Perez.  Manny leaves behind many friends and relatives who adored him and will miss him dearly.

He will always be known for his wit, his kindness
and willingness to help.  He was dearly loved by his Ortega family.

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)
