Hugh Marcus House

Hugh Marcus House, known affectionately as Marc to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024, in Seattle, Washington, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 1, 1968, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Marc's vibrant spirit and warm smile brought joy to all who knew him.

Marc's childhood was marked by his curiosity and eagerness to explore the world around him, traits that would define him throughout his life.

A lifelong learner, Marc pursued his passion for technology by studying Computer Science and Information Technology, fields in which he not only excelled but also used to make a lasting impact on everyone he worked with. He had a distinguished career in Information Technology, where he was known for his innovative solutions to problems.

Marc's creativity was not confined to his work; it was a vital part of his essence. Outside of his professional life, he was an avid artist. He found joy and expression through painting and drawing, creating works that reflected his imagination and eye for detail.  His friendly demeanor made him a cherished colleague, a treasured friend, and an indispensable member of his community.

After the sudden loss of his wife, Marc moved to Seattle Washington, where he was met by loving friends both old and new. He found the peace there that he had been searching for.

Marc cherished the time he spent exploring Seattle, finding sanctuary and inspiration from the Puget Sound area and its people. Everyone in his apartment building knew him and he was eager to help each one as the need arose.

Hugh shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Dottie. The two were inseparable companions, sharing countless adventures together.

Marc completed his life with a spirit of love, kindness, and caring.  His absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He leaves behind a loving family: his father, Ron House; his mother, Sylvia Fischer; his brother, Jon House; his son, Stephan House; his daughter, Sophia House; and his grandson, Grayson House. Marc's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories they share and the love they continue to hold for him.

Although his time with us was cut short, the impact he made will endure. Marc's warmth, wisdom, and wit will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace, Hugh Marcus House.
