Adam Benedict Bachmeier
April 26, 1942 ~ August 28, 2025
Adam “Eddie” Bachmeier passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025 at age of 83 in Kent, Washington. Adam spent many years struggling with dementia and near the end his heart was wide open. He was in the presence of family during his final hours.
Adam was born in Rugby, ND to John J. Bachmeier and Catherine Mack. He was the oldest son and second of 13 children. He left school at a young age to help on the family farm in ND. In the late 1950s, the family moved to Albany, OR.
Adam loved adventure and his career path, ranging from jockey to commercial fishing, reflected his restless, adventurous spirit. Most of his professional career was spent as a chief engineer on commercial fishing boats. Work that took him to Alaska, Uruguay, South Africa and Mobile, Alabama.
Adam had a big heart, a deep appreciation for the natural world, and compassion for all creatures.
Adam is survived by his daughter Michele Bachmeier-Evans (Mark), son Curt Bachmeier (Gabrielle). Brothers and sisters Daniel Bachmeier, Rose Bachmeier, Kenneth Bachmeier, Mary Farmer (Bachmeier), John Bachmeier, Rodney Bachmeier, Terry Bachmeier and Robert Bachmeier. Three grandchildren, Maya, Makayla and Milo Bachmeier-Evans. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Doris Furmidge (Bachmeier), Ronald Bachmeier, Rene Bachmeier and Richard Bachmeier.
We loved him dearly and will miss him deeply.
