It is with profound sadness that the family of Angela Lei Anne Spears of Burien, Washington, announces her death on Friday, November 8, 2024. She was 40 years old.
Angie was born in Boise, Idaho, in December of 1983, to Scott and Laure (Reed) Spears. Throughout her youth, Angie enjoyed participating in sports, including tennis and skiing, which she loved. Additionally, she was musically inclined, often traveling with her choir and band during her high school years. Angie had a giving spirit starting at a young age when she enthusiastically accompanied her dad to “help” with the family business each Saturday. Her volunteer work, recognized by the Key Club, continued into her teen years when she worked as a candy striper at her local hospital.
Angie had a lifelong appreciation for learning, something that awarded her recognition by the National Honor Society throughout junior high and high school. Angie then attended the University of Idaho where she was a resident advisor who mentored and provided leadership for students. Graduating with a bachelor of science in food science and toxicology, Angie started what would be an expansive career in food safety and quality assurance, beginning as a technologist at Medallion Foods, rising in ranks to senior quality analyst at Continental Mills, and acting most recently as a food safety manager at Nutpods.
Shortly following her move to Burien, Angie met Kent Stock, and after five years of courtship, they married on the beach in San Diego, California, on December 11, 2021. Angie and Kent enjoyed traveling, with recent trips to Europe, Canada, and Hawaii, as well as staying closer to home where they’d bike on Alki Beach and frequent local eateries and wine bars. Angie could often be found out walking with their beloved dogs or hiking on the many Washington trails.
Angie will be lovingly remembered for her calm demeaner, sweet disposition, compassion for humanity and animals, dedicated work ethic, and loyalty to family and friends. She was the embodiment of kindness, and words cannot capture how deeply she will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Angie is survived by her husband Kent, her parents Scott and Laure, Christine (Will Boake) Stock, Sarah Stock, Emily (Jacob) Nugent, Lin-li Stock, and Olivia Boake. A memorial will be held in her honor next spring in Boise.
