Ann (Anne) E Rhay

December 21, 1965 — May 12, 2024

Our beloved sister Anne passed away on Mother’s Day Sunday, joining our Mom, Patricia Anne and Dad, Bobby J.  Anne touched so many with her bubbly enthusiasm, gentle kindness and genuine concern for others.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Anne grew up on the grounds of the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla being the youngest of the Warden's seven daughters.  The girls shared many adventures and created many memories within the shadows of the prison walls, defining this unlikely neighborhood as their own.  Anne moved to Bellevue with her mom to complete high school and then worked at a number of security jobs including Safeco Field and Seattle Metro.  She was known for her work ethic and strictly enforcing the rules while always willing to lend a helping hand.  Kent was her home for the past 15 years with her partner, Craig.  Over the past few years, she bravely battled cancer with successful treatment however succumbed to complications.

Anne is survived by her sisters; Kathleen Ferguson (Mike), Colleen Rhay, Maureen Hollister (Steve), Bridgid Smith (Brian), Megan Sweeters (Mark), and Trish Rhay along with her many nieces and nephews.

A private gathering will be held in Walla Walla to celebrate her life.
