CHARLOTTE MARIE FASSO September 13, 1927 - April 14, 2023 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charlotte Marie Fasso, at the age of 95. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 14, 2023. Charlotte lived a long and interesting life and will be missed very much. Charlotte was born on Sept. 13, 1927, in Monroe, WA, and was the daughter of a logger, shipyard worker and building contractor by the name of John Mortensen and his wife Laura Mortensen. She grew up as the only girl with six brothers in Vancouver, WA. Charlotte graduated from Vancouver High School followed by completing her certification from Bates Cooking School in Tacoma, WA. She had been a shipyard worker, worked as a telephone operator, at an electric and steel factory, as a waitress, and then worked as a cook/chef for 50 years in local restaurants. In her younger years, Charlotte enjoyed skiing, was a baseball player, a Fred Murray dance instructor, and she played piano and the organ. She loved sports and was a big Mariners fan. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband John F. Fasso; son, Timothy Joseph Blair; brothers, Wallace “Wally”, Eugene, John, Jake, and Robert “Bob” Mortensen. She is survived by her brother, Edwin Mortensen of Ridgefield, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews and their children from the Mortensen side of the family along with John F. Fasso’s children, grandchildren, and Charlotte’s sister-in-law Susan Kelln.
