Evelyn Patricia Vinluan-Wolf

Evelyn (Evie) Patricia Vinluan-Wolf, 78, of Seattle, WA, was called home on July 19, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend to many. Evie’s warmth, kindness, and bright spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Evie was born on June 5, 1948, in Seattle, WA, to Primitivo and Socorro Zapata, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the second eldest of ten children.

A proud member of the Filipino community, Evie was actively involved with FYA (Filipino Youth Activities) for many years and was also a member of the Philippine War Bride Association.

During her teenage years, she joined the FYA's Cabataan Folk Dancers, Princesa Drill Team, Cumbanchero Percussioneers, and Mandayan Marchers. Sharing and celebrating Philippine culture through dance became one of the highlights of her life. Through performances and travel across Washington and the West Coast, she formed many lifelong friendships.

As an adult, Evie continued her passion for cultural preservation by teaching Filipino folk dancing to young children. As the daughter of a member of the Philippine War Bride Association, she became a second-generation member and supported the organization through fundraising and community outreach efforts.

Professionally, Evie dedicated 38 years to the telecommunications industry, working for Pacific Northwest Bell, US West, Qwest, and CenturyLink. During her career, she also volunteered with the Central Area Community Relations Team, visiting and entertaining residents in nursing homes and helping serve elderly individuals and homeless families during the holiday season.

Evie was known for her creativity and often used her talents to help family and friends plan special events. Whether designing decorations or creating unique party favors, she brought joy, thoughtfulness, and care to every gathering. She was especially admired for her generosity and willingness to help others.

Evie had three significant relationships in her life.

Her first husband was Bohayko Vinluan, with whom she had her daughter, Noelani, and another daughter, Nicole, who passed away at birth.

Vernon Simmons was her partner for 17 years and helped raise Noelani.

In June 2005, Evie married her husband, Larry Wolf. His love and devotion remained steadfast through the end of her life.

Evie is survived by her husband, Larry Wolf; her daughter, Noelani Triggs (Lionel) of Auburn; and her grandchildren, Isabella and Socorro. She is also survived by her siblings: Lita Llaneta (Bob) of Seattle, Ben Zapata (Shirley) of Bellevue, Ruben Zapata (Arlene) of Skokie, IL, Dennis Zapata of Seattle, Markus Zapata of Seattle, Myron Zapata of Renton, Conchitina Zapata of Natick, MA, and Barbara Marxer (John) of Everett. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nicole Vinluan, and her brother, Reynaldo (Dundo) Zapata. Evie also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren who will miss her dearly.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Seattle. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to mass. A graveside service will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Immediately afterward, a meal will be served at Feast in Renton.
