Glenn E. Graham Age 91

Went to be with our Heavenly Father on September 1, 2022.

Glenn was born to Lee and Euva Graham on January 23, 1931, in Clifty Arkansas In 1946, his family moved to the town of Malaga, near Wenatchee, WA.

Shortly after graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1949, Glenn enlisted in the United State Air Force. During his 4 years of service he was stationed in Japan during the Korean War.  Glenn was honorably discharged and returned to attend Wenatchee Valley College before transferring to the University of Washington where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business.  During his senior year at the UW (1958) he married his beloved wife, Shirley.

Glenn worked many years as the traffic manager for PACCAR, Inc. Retired at age 57; Glenn and Shirley were able to travel to many places around the world.  He was also able to help the family by watching the grandchildren, even taking them back and forth to preschool and kindergarten.

The family spent their summers at Useless Bay on Whidbey Island, in the house he built. Many memories were made including, beach campfires, clam digging, swimming at the country club pool, where Glenn was always in the water helping the grandchildren learn to swim.  Glenn and Shirley spent 20 years as “Snowbirds” in Apache Junction, AZ along with many of their friends from Glendale Lutheran Church, where they were long-time members.  In the warm weather of Arizona he was able to continue to enjoy his hobbies, including golfing, swimming and woodworking.

Preceded in death by his parents, sister Aline Graham (infancy), sister Opal Jacobs, 1993 and brother Cecil Graham, 1997.  Survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Shirley, 3 daughters: Bonnie Graham, Valerie Schorn (Scott), Sherrie Graham (Eric Flaten). 7 Grandchildren: Cara (Jeff), Nicholas, Steven (Kristy), Kellen (Anne), Erica, Gunther and Hailey. 4 Great-Grandchildren: Aurora, Benjamin, Evelyn and Riley.  He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews.

“Walking with Grandpa”

I like to walk with Grandpa, his steps are short like mine. He doesn’t say, “Now hurry up” He always takes his time. I like to walk with Grandpa his eyes see things like mine; a birdie bright, a funny cloud, a penny that really shines.  Most people are in hurry, they do not stop and see; I’m glad God made Grandpa unrushed, and as young as me.  Author: Rodney O. Hurd

Glenn will be dearly missed by his family and friends
