Hermenegilda “Hermie” Antiporda was born on February 24, 1928. She was one of five siblings of Luis and Isabel Gundran. Hermie went to a public school in Naguilian, La Union, Philippines and married Bernardino “ Fernando” Antiporda on August 13, 1953.
She started to work at a well known Spanish Madrid Restaurant, before the birth of 5 star hotel and restaurants as a laundrette, then through hard work and training became a dining supervisor which she loved and enjoyed. She met well-known people like the Astronauts, beauty pageant winners, celebrities and politicians around the world who dined in their restaurant. She helped people needing jobs to get employed in their restaurant to support their families.
Hermie immigrated to the USA year 2001 with her husband who is a veteran. They had stayed to her niece in New Jersey for a few months then settled permanently in Seattle for more than 20 years. Her husband find it hard to adjust to the weather so had decided to go back in the Philippines. She treasured going home in the Philippines yearly to spend her birthday gatherings with the presence of all or most of her family and friends. Hermie had a loving, compassionate nature and very generous; loved by family, adored by neighbors and known to have a golden heart. Her mailbox is always full of charity correspondence whom she regularly paid in without discrimination. On her time, she was actively involved as the President and a sponsor of the “ Philippine Woman's Club and Charity Events”. She was a devoted Christian, prays for everyone, love pets, travelling, meeting people and playing games with friends during social hours.
Hermie had lived life to the full up to the end of her life journey under her wonderful staff who gave the most amazing “Golden Star” TLC with her stay in Emerald-Luv-N-Care, an Adult Family Home where she was cared and supported like their own family which she immensely appreciated.
Sadly, Hermenegilda passed away naturally and peacefully on March 15, 2021.
