Jacqueline L. Mundell

April 15, 1941 ~ October 16, 2018

Born and raised in Denver, and a graduate of the University of Colorado, Jacque married and was made fortunate by the birth of a daughter and a son. She raised her family in Omaha, NE, after having lived in Washington, DC, Rochester, NY, and Centerville, OH. As a working mother, she attained Master of Library Science and Master of Public Administration degrees, and pursued a career in library administration in Lincoln, NE, Cleveland, and Chicago. She finished her career in Seattle, where she was Dean of Instructional and Information Support Services at North Seattle College until she retired in 2004. On October 16, 2018, she died at home of a heart attack.

Jacque is survived by her son Carrick Mundell, daughter-in-law Susan Mundell, son-in-law Byron Krystad, and granddaughters Lillian and Julia Mundell and Margaret and Charlotte Krystad. She was preceded in death by her daughter Heather Mundell.

Jacque moved to Seattle in 2001 to be near her children and grandchildren. Her love for her family was never in question. She particularly admired her four granddaughters, whom she saw as a bright hope for the future. Though she was a strongly independent woman, she defined her life through the caring relationships she had with close family and friends.

For many decades, Jacque supported organizations that advance women's rights. To honor her life, please consider making a donation in her name to the League of Women Voters Education Fund.
