Joseph Desjarlais

Joe was born in North Dakota on Jan. 8th, 1946 but sadly left us on May 17th, 2025. Joe was a member of the Turtle Mountain Chippewa band. While Joe was in kindergarten at Turtle Mountains he was forced by the government to leave Turtle Mountains to attend Wahpeton Indian boarding school for 8 years. Joe moved to California for work and while living in San Francisco he met Kris and later they were married while living in Montana. Joe always worked as a printer until he retired from the King County print shop in Seattle. He attended Montana State University and the University of Washington.

Joe leave behind his wife Kris, his niece Brenda, his nephews Jim and Jeff, and his sweet pup Peach.
