Lawrence Edward “Larry” Bommarito

6/11/1947 – 9/20/2020

Larry was born in Medford, Massachusetts to C. Lawrence Bommarito, an aerospace physiologist, and Virginia (nee Jones) Bommarito, home maker extraordinaire. He moved to Seattle with his family at the age of twelve and would spend the rest of his life in the Puget Sound area. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1965, attended Shoreline Community College, and served a stint in the U.S. Army. He became a skilled machinist and toolsmith. At a young age, he took an interest in firearms and gained an encyclopedic knowledge of their history. He loved antique guns. He practiced at local firing ranges and was a staunch advocate for gun safety.

He bought his first Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the 70’s and was an enthusiastic rider ever after.

His greatest passion, however, lay in performing arts. His steel trap memory was a boon to him as an actor and he was a talented impressionist with a delightful sense of humor. He performed in local theater in Seattle and Tacoma, and sang in the Bel Canto Performing Arts Society Choir which had its roots in the Madrigal choir of his Franklin High School days. He played guitar, banjo and hammer dulcimer, and found great joy in folk music and dance. He was friendly, outgoing and gave the best hugs. He is mourned by his many friends from the arts communities.

Larry is survived by his loving family: sister Helen of Bend, Oregon and brother Guy (Ann) of Kennewick; daughter Sacha, nephews Steve, Marc, and Noah and niece Jennifer; great-nephews Anthony, Tyler, Liam, and Hunter, and great-niece Gabrielle.

Please share memories of Larry and condolences on the tribute wall located above.
