Leslie Douglas Forman
1954 ~ 2016
Leslie Douglas Forman, 62, passed away in Seattle, Washington on October 25, 2016. Leslie was born on Lake of the Woods in Kenora, Ontario on March 23, 1954 to Helen Mary Konoski and Douglas Howie Forman. He was the grandson of Ukrainian and Scottish families who immigrated to Canada around 1920. Leslie was baptized and confirmed at St. Nicholas Greek Catholic Church. In 1961 the Forman family moved to Longview, Washington.
Les rode the Canadian Pacific Railroad with his family during summers to visit relatives back home. He swam in Spirit Lake at Mt. St. Helens, rode motorcycles and picked enough strawberries to buy a Karmann Ghia. Les was a notable pole vaulter for his track team at Mark Morris High School and is remembered for his ready smile toward fellow students. After graduating in 1972, he worked for Weyerhaeuser and then relocated to Seattle to begin a career for Farmers Insurance. Les loved working hard toward his goals. In 1975 he began building his own insurance agency. Within five years he achieved the rank of District Manager. After marrying Ms. Jeannie Shore, he cherished traveling to Kauai with his family. Les enjoyed community life as a Little League baseball coach in the Highline area. In 1990, he semi-retired with the onset of health challenges. Leslie will be remembered for his tenacity, generosity and love of family. We love you Les and honor your life struggles. Thank you for being an example of what it means to always persevere. May your journey be Light, may you be free.
