Mary Ann Mcgovern

Mary McGovern passed into Heaven on September 27, 2022, at the age of 101.
Mary was born on January 24, 1921 to Irish immigrants in Anaconda, MT and came to Seattle to attend Seattle University (then College) when she was 17 years old.
It was at Seattle College where she met the love of her life, John F. "Jack" McGovern. Mary and Jack were married after graduation and built a beautiful and rewarding life together. Her passion and vocation in life was as a loving wife, mother, and friend. Mary was a devout Catholic. Her family, friends, and faith brought her much joy in life.
She was very proud of her Irish heritage and could sing "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" even when other speech was difficult for her in her last days.
Mary is survived by her son Terrence (Joann), daughter Maureen, daughter-in-law Patsy, grandchildren Brian (Mary), Breanna McGovern Doyle (Matt), and Jeffrey (Mari) as well as eight great-grandchildren Michael, Taylor, Madeleine, Jack, Abby, Molly, Bridget, and Kiernan.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack, her eldest son Patrick, and grand-daughter Laura McGovern Woodruff.
