Michael Howard Gray, known affectionately as Mike, passed away on July 14, 2024, at the age of 69, in Seattle, Washington. Born on July 12, 1955, Mike left a lasting impact through his dedication to family, service, and community.

Mike honorably served in the Navy for six years, stationed aboard the USS Coral Sea during the Iranian Crisis in 1979. His commitment to his country was a significant chapter in his life, reflecting his dedication and bravery.

Following his military service, Mike embarked on a career in the security field, eventually rising to the position of supervising manager. His leadership and integrity were hallmarks of his professional life until his retirement.

Mike was a vibrant and social individual, known for his love of audio books, movies, and music. He cherished spending time outdoors, enjoying fresh air and sunshine, and was often found engaging with people throughout his community, sharing stories and laughter. His involvement with the children of the Intergenerational Learning Center at Providence Mount St. Vincent brought him joy and highlighted his nurturing and affectionate nature.

Mike had a strong Christian faith and was spiritually connected through his everyday interactions in nature and with his loved ones.

Mike is survived by his stepchildren, Ken (Karin), Tiffany, and Shannon, and his seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his life partner, Trish Parsons, of 35 years, who passed away in 2016.

The Emmick Funeral Home in West Seattle, Washington, is assisting the family during this time.
