Mika was a storyteller, a dreamer of worlds, a creator of souls to inhabit them and leaves behind a treasure trove of stories. She especially loved fairy tales and folklore, which she studied as part of her English degree at the University of Washington.
Mika was also a gifted genealogist, combining her love of family, stories, and meticulous research. A devoted cat mom, she adored her beloved adopted cats, Leia and Gomez. She cared deeply about Indigenous and LGBT+ rights.
Mika leaves behind her father, Ellis Hillinger; her sister, Shannon Hillinger (Walker Aumann); her nephews, Elihu and Davis Hillinger; and many beloved relatives, friends and creative collaborators. We will see her in every purple sparkle we meet.
