Olive Marie Daniels

Olive M. Daniels, 95, died April 3, 2016, of natural causes after a short period of declining health. At the time of her passing, she was residing in Seattle, Wash., at an adult family home. It was her desire to relocate to Seattle so she could spend the last months of her life close to her son.

Olive was born on Oct. 3, 1920, in Elkhart, Ind., to Daniel Kime and Evelyn McCloughan. She grew up in Elkhart and graduated from Elkhart High School in 1938. She was the youngest of seven children - George Kime, John Kime, Ilah Mickelson, Lena Amsden, Alice Fuller, and Pauline Pickerel - who all preceded her in death. Two of Olive's own children Kirt Alan Daniels and Debra Ann Daniels also preceded her in death. There is one surviving son T Kent Daniels and a daughter-in-law Linda Daniels. There are no grandchildren.

The loss of her husband and two of her children combined with the lack of any extended family made for some lonely times, but Olive faced the challenge with stoicism. Her dry wit, intelligence, political astuteness and her genuine caring and selflessness saw her through to the end of her days. Since her illness started in November, Olive's surviving son Kent accompanied her daily. Both he and Linda cared deeply for Olive and will always love her.

In 1954, Olive moved with Gene to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and then in 1955 to Southern California, where they set up and operated two successful businesses in the medical supply industry. In 1989, they came to Klamath Falls to start a function room furniture business called Camelot West. Later, they retired and enjoyed winters in Palm Springs, Calif. The rest of the year, they spent time with friends and family.In lieu of donations or other remembrances, it is suggested that you seek out a senior who is lonely, who has no family, and spend some time with them. -
