Robert Steven Evans

August 30, 1951 — January 16, 2017

Robert (Bob) Steven Evans passed away on January 16, 2017 at home due to natural causes.  He was born on August 30, 1951 to Clifford and Betty Evans in Jerome, Idaho.   He grew up in Boise, Idaho and Bellevue, Washington.  He graduated from Capital High School in Boise, Idaho.  He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University, where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.  He received his MBA from Seattle University.  He started his career at the City of Portland as a traffic engineer and finished his career at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, where he worked for over twenty years.

Bob had a great love for animals and was blessed with many wonderful dogs throughout his lifetime that were his dedicated and loyal companions.  He loved the outdoors, particularly spending time at the ocean or in the mountains – he climbed Mt. Hood and trekked Mt. Rainier.  Bob was a connoisseur of craft beer.  He had a passion for Golf; it is a sport he loved to play, study and watch.  He was a kind, funny person and we all enjoyed being around him.

He is preceded in death by his father Clifford, his mother Betty and his brother Gary.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years Sue Wilson Evans and their two Labrador retrievers Jazzy and Zorro, his sister Julie Evans Slee and her husband Gary, his niece Katie (Scott) Apple, his nephew Ben (Tracy) Slee, his brother in law Frank (Karla) Wilson and his nephew Christopher (Christine) Wilson and his 7 great nieces and nephews.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Guide Dogs for the Blind or the Humane Society.
