Thalia (Euthalia) Denos, a woman of grace, resilience and deep rooted connection to her Greek heritage peacefully passed away on October 13th, 2023.  Thalia was born on March 4, 1934 into a legacy of faith and community.  Her parents, Adamandia and Thrasivoulos Denos, were original founding members of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption and Thalia a prominent figure in the community.

She spent her childhood, with her younger sister Kiki, in West Seatte   She attended Lafayette Elementary, James Madison Junior High and West Seattle High schools.  In September of 1952 Thalia began studies at the University of Washington until her father died unexpectedly in 1954.  Thalia worked variety of office jobs and in 1973 started what would become a 30-year career with IBM.  Her work was in several divisions of the company, including travel across Texas and California.  Thalia enjoyed the security of the job and the payday lunches at El Gaucho, a nearby upscale restaurant.

In her retirement, Thalia has volunteered tirelessly serving on the parish council, deeply involved in planning all major events, and spent seven years assisting the Greek folk dance program.  Thalia cherishes the Sundays after church when friends and relatives would gather. The parea (companionship) has been very important to her.

Thalia leaves behind a family and community grateful for her dedication and service. Thalia will be remembered for her enduring spirit and her role in preserving the rich Greek culture in Washington and carrying forward her parent's dedication to the church. She is survived by her loving family, Ted (brother-in-law),Thom and Christine (Nephew / wife). Thalia says "enjoy your life before you are 70 because then life changes. Don't wait for tomorrow."
