William (Bill or Billy) Johnson passed away on April 11th at the age of 75, surrounded by his family.
Bill was a loving father and most of all a proud papa. He was selfless, humble, and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed the small things in life like playing cards and betting on the horses, but mostly cherished his time spent with family and friends.
Bill proudly served in the US Army (503D Infantry and 173D Airborne Brigade) during the Vietnam War from 1967-1970. As a sergeant and paratrooper, he was honorably discharged and received the Army Commendation Medal, as well as the Bronze Medal for his meritorious achievement. Shortly after, he met his long-time best friend and ex-wife Annita.
Bill was born in Dubuque, Iowa, and raised as an only child by his mother, Mary. He is survived by his 5 children, Brandon, Jennifer (Pete), Darcy (Ben), Matt (Kortney), Josh (Brianna); and 9 grandchildren, Jordan, Kylie, Bella, Max, Alina, Markis, Josh Jr., Holli, and Avery. Bill was a hero to so many; a dedicated dad, papa, and friend.
