Zack McInelly

Zack McInelly of Seattle, Washington, passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 49 after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carrie; their two children, Dylan and Ella; and their Goldendoodle, Jake. He is also survived by his mom, Jeanne McInelly; siblings Jared (Camille), Mandy Madill (Chris), Matt (Bri), and Mike (Emma); mother-in-law Mary Lovell; sisters-in-law Jenny Mesdag (Owen) and Andrea Lovell; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and colleagues who were fortunate to know him.

Zack was born in Texas before making Washington his home. He graduated from Eastern Washington University, where he met Carrie, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. Zack cherished his role as Business Development Director at McKinstry, where he spent more than a decade cultivating relationships and contributing to impactful work that made him proud.

An enthusiastic Seahawks fan, a barbecue extraordinaire, a passionate golfer who treasured every round with friends, and the life of every party, Zack believed in living big and laughing often. Time with family and friends was his greatest joy. Whether it was a family trip to Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, or Costa Rica, a fishing expedition, or a golf outing with his buddies, being with Zack always meant a great time.

Zack was preceded in death by his dad, Steven McInelly, and his father-in-law, Jack Lovell. 

A celebration of Zack’s life will be held at a later date, because, of course, he wanted one more party. To honor Zack’s courageous fight and his hope for a future free from cancer, the family invites contributions in his memory to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
