David Taylor Obituary

David W. Taylor died unexpectedly on January 21st, 2021 at the age of 63 in his home.

David is survived by his daughter Becky Slater (husband Evan), his grandchildren Justin & Emma, his brother William (Bill) Taylor, & sister-in-law Maureen Taylor along with many nieces, nephews, family, & friends. He is predeceased by his parents Charles (Dick) & Katherine (Kate) Taylor, sister Sandy McFadden (husband Jim), and brother Thomas (Tom) Taylor.

David was born in Holmdel, NJ but was a long-term resident of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood and a compassionate member of the LGBTQ community. David was dedicated to the mission of SCCA Blood & Marrow Transplant and it was reflected in his work every day. He was loved by staff & patients; he was so proud of being a part of “The Hutch” Mission. His beloved work family included the BMT Team Coordinators and Patient Service Representatives, the BMT Leadership Team “Teamers” & numerous multidisciplinary teams & departments with whom he has worked over his 36 years at both Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

David was a loving father, brother, uncle, great uncle, grandpa & friend. He was the keeper of timelines, memories, and family history. He always encouraged the best in people and was an excellent mentor. David loved music, family vacations, animals, gardening and Diet Pepsi. He was inventive, detailed, & very organized. David was a principled individual, a man of integrity.

“Integrity, is choosing your thoughts and actions based on values rather than personal gain.”

We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
