Florence Gagner

Florence Gagner (Boisjolie) passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, surrounded by love. Florence was born in Sutton, North Dakota on February 24, 1926. She spent her childhood in North Dakota before moving to Seattle, WA in her twenties.

In Seattle, she met the love of her life, Hilaire. They married on October 26, 1949 at St. Anne's church on Queen Anne. They welcomed their first child, Steven, two years later. Together, they raised twelve children of their own, and were a second home for many others, including countless friends and extended family. She and Hilaire (Buck) were the truest of soulmates, and were married for 46 years before he passed away in 1995.

The Gagner home was known for always being an open door for anyone and everyone. Anyone in need of a warm meal or a place to stay was always welcome there. No questions asked and without any judgement. She was the definition of unconditional love.

Florence is preceded in death by her husband Hilaire, her son Steve, and her sister Genevieve. She is survived by 11 of her twelve children, 29 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Her passing has left a void in our hearts and lives that can never be filled.

We cherish the 94, larger than life, incredible years we had with her. She was the most devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend one could ever ask for. While we miss her terribly, we know that the legacy she created is eternal. She'll live on forever in our memories.
