She was, and always will be, my "Auntie Lola." My great aunt was a spirited woman who was a true trailblazer. She didn't follow convention and held fast to her ideals and beliefs. I always admired her for her strength and for her creative talents. She was sharp, clever and passionately pursued her musical career in a pioneering way.

I met Lola while visiting my mom during her stay at MSV and we discovered we were from the same Mt. Baker/Garlic Gulch neighborhood. I really enjoyed her company and we shared many stories of the old neighborhood. She was a real sweetheart and I kept meaning to go back and visit after my mom's passing but I'm sad to find out I'm too late.
